In-School Ballet and Creative Movement Residencies

Students learn while in motion! Classroom teachers and OBT teaching artists collaborate to make dance residencies relevant to the classroom and fun! Teaching artists are proficient in using Education Standards in literacy, math, science and infuse Oregon state dance standards throughout.

Some of our favorite curriculum includes:

  • Storytelling
  • Adjectives and Adverbs
  • Animals
  • Life Cycles
  • Habitats
  • Sound and Light Waves
  • Patterns
  • Early Math Concepts
  • Social/Emotional Skills

Everyone can benefit from studying dance! Our residencies provide a way for students to engage more deeply with their minds and bodies. While students learn about dance, they also practice life-long skills like creativity, problem solving, perseverance, confidence, and communication. This art form which started hundreds of years ago helps build skills for today’s world!

Prices begin at $60/session. Please contact community@obt.org to learn more or to bring OBT to your school or classroom.
