Isichel Perez Rivero | Apprentice

Originally from Camagüey, Cuba, began his journey in dance with Cuban folklore at the age of five. He slowly transitioned into ballroom where he was able to perform in multiple theaters across the state. At the age of ten, Perez moved to Mexico where he performed in numerous theaters and television shows where he got to shear his culture. Perez moved to the United States at age fourteen he began training in ballet at a small studio in Decatur, Texas three years later. After his senior graduation he moved to Carlisle, Pennsylvania and began training with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary and the mentorship of Simon Ball. In 2017 he joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theater’s Grad program where he trained for 2 years. He then spent one year in the Nashville Ballet Second Company where he danced in Paul Vasterling’s Romeo and Juliet and Gina Patterson’s 72 Steps. In 2020 Perez joined OBT2 where he dance in George Balanchine’s, The Nutcracker®, Ben Stevenson’s Dracula and Fluidity of Steel by Darrell Grand. He was promoted to company apprentice in 2022.
