Cyrus Shaskan began his training at ten years old at at Miami City Ballet where his imagination was sparked by the possibility of dancing professionally. He witnessed his and his peers strengths grow the longer he was committed to this form. Shaskan then moved to Los Angeles and trained at the Colburn Dance Academy where the academy’s mission was to develop the student’s artistic interpretation under former New York City Ballet principals, Jennifer Ringer and James Fayette. Shaskan completed his training at the Dutch National Ballet School and the San Francisco Ballet School where his technique was refined before accepting an apprenticeship with Edwaard Liang at BalletMet. Shaskan then took his artistic aspirations to Utah Metropolitan Ballet where he had the opportunity to perform principal roles for its resident choreographer, Jacqueline Colledge.
Some of his favorite roles performed have been George Balanchine’s Tarantella, “The Man I Love” in Who Cares?, and William Forsythe’s In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated.
