THE SCHOOL OF OREGON BALLET THEATRE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE
featuring Kent Stowell's Coppélia!
Newmark Theatre

Friday, April 29, 2011 at 7:30pm
Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 2:00pm

OBT’s Children’s Series closes with the School of OBT’s Annual Performance, which this year features a special, condensed version of Coppélia.  Based on  the story "Der Sandmann" by E.T.A. Hoffman and choreographed by Pacific Northwest Ballet Founding Artistic Director Kent Stowell, this beloved work tells the tale of young love, an eccentric toy-maker and a beautiful doll that comes to life.  Comedy and magic mix to delightful effect in this stunning production for children of all ages!

See the stars of tomorrow today! The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre is the state’s premier ballet training facility–and, once a year, we take the stage and prove it. The Annual School Performance features world-class works performed by students of all levels, some on the brink of launching their professional careers. Previous shows have included ballets by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, August Bourneville, Lew Christensen, Michael Smuin, Christopher Stowell, James Canfield and Josie Moseley.
